The
peaceful settlement of Imerovigli is considered one of the world's
prime vacation spots, mainly due to its incomparable view of
Santorini's famous Caldera and the golden sun setting into the
Aegean Sea.
Imerovigli
though, is also a "protected" settlement and has many
other lovely characteristics such as its quaint Cycladic houses
carved into the village's rocky cliff, narrow cobblestone streets
and the view of the Venetian castle "Skaros".
It is located on the western side of Santorini, high above sea
level. Across from Imerovigli are the three volcanic isles of
Thirasia, Palea Kammeni and Nea Kammeni.
The
Astra Apartments & Suites are located on the high cliffs
of Imerovigli, Santorini, above the majestic Caldera, its volcano
and volcanic islets and the deep blue Aegean Sea. The spectacular
view, in combination with our excellent services and tasteful
accommodation is the reason our guests prefer our complex year
after year.
The
Astra complex is comprised of 24 spacious apartments and suites,
all of which are furnished and decorated according to the Cycladic
style and offer a spectacular view of the Caldera. The Astra
complex is characterized by luxury, simplicity and elegance.
The
complex operates from April 1st to October 31st.
Property
Amenities
Located
in the sleepy village of Imerovigli, a mile north of Fira Town,
this small hotel is set on the highest point of the caldera of Santorini’s
ancient volcano, 1,000 feet above the sea. It consists of 22 air-conditioned
suites, studios, and apartments with stone floors, whitewashed walls,
and traditional domed ceilings. All units have kitchenettes and
balconies or terraces overlooking the sea, some with private spa
tubs or infinity pools.
Guests in all accommodations receive a bottle of Santorini wine
on arrival, daily housekeeping, and complimentary Continental breakfast,
served until noon. Suite guests also receive newspapers, bathrobes
and slippers, and twice-daily housekeeping.
Other
amenities include an outdoor pool, poolside bar, and book exchange/library.
Massage services and Internet access are available. There is no
hotel restaurant, but guests may order sandwiches, salads, desserts,
and beverages from a room service menu from early morning until
midnight.
